Overview

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will join our Electrical Systems Design Team in our Westfield, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Our Electrical Team and Projects
Our Electrical Engineering team, composed of a highly skilled group of professionals, plays a key role in the design and optimization of electrical systems for both new construction and building renovations. With a focus on energy efficiency and sustainable building operation, our experienced engineers support project teams throughout the design, construction, and post-occupancy phases. Our work spans a variety of building types, ensuring that each project delivers high-performance electrical solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.  

Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with the design of electrical systems for new construction and building renovations including control wiring and circuit design, lighting design, and fire/security alarm design
  • Support arc flash and coordination studies, power quality analysis researching, examining a wide variety of structure related data
  • Perform engineering calculations, proofreading, and copying of various reports and specifications
  • Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing electrical systems

What You'll Need

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Electrical or Power Engineering
  • Previous coursework or relevant experience in electrical system design, lighting design or fire/security alarm design
  • Interest in pursuing the FE Exam and EIT certification
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, SolidWorks or other 3D modeling/visualization tools
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting tools such as MATLAB or Python
  • At least 2 years of completed coursework in a college level academic program
  • Previous internship experience in electrical design, consulting, or construction support
