As an Entry Level Staff Engineer, you will join our Mechanical HVAC Design Team in our Westfield, MA or Westwood, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Our Building Services Team and Projects
Our Building Services team, composed of skilled engineers and technical leaders, is key to optimizing building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. While our work often goes unseen, it ensures the seamless operation of critical systems. We collaborate with architects and contractors to deliver integrated solutions across vertical structures, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection while focusing on sustainability and efficiency.

Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards

What You’ll Be Doing
As a valuable part of our Mechanical Team, an Entry Level Staff Engineer will support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with responsibilities such as:

  • Play a key role in designing mechanical air system and hydronic system drawings, details, flow diagrams, and mechanical system concepts
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations and creating biddable mechanical design plans using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Observe construction, support construction administration, review equipment submittals, respond to contractor questions during construction, and perform field surveys of existing mechanical systems

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems or Energy Engineering
  • Passed your FE Exam, or planning to by June 2026
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems or Energy Engineering
  • Previous internship experience in mechanical design and familiarity with the project types listed in the above description
  • Experience and exposure to construction administration tasks and knowledge of various HVAC system types
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD MEP and Revit

  • The annual salary for a Staff Engineer 1 in Mechanical Engineering is set at $78,208 for a candidate graduating with a Bachelor's degree
  • The annual salary for a Staff Engineer 1 in Mechanical Engineering is set at $82,368 for a candidate graduating with a Master's degree
